Who is your favorite character in the story? Why?

Why was it important not to be idle "with the world so new-and-all"?
What do you think "so new-and-all" means?
"How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin"
On page 24, in reference to this poem:
Them that takes cakes
Which the Parsee-man bakes
Makes dreadful mistakes.
it says, "And there was a great deal more in that than you would think." What do you think that means?
"How the Leopard Got His Spots"
In the first paragraph it says, "In the days when everybody started fair . . ." What do you think that means?
"The Elephant's Child":
Why do you think the elephant's child is so curious? What does it mean to be curious?
Why do you think the elephant's child stays curious even after being spanked?
From something bad (almost getting eaten by crocodile) the elephant child gets something good (a useful trunk). Does this happen in real life?
"The Sing-Song of Old Man Kangaroo"
The Kangaroo wanted to be changed, but it did not happen the way he expected. How did he want it to happen?
