What is the contest between Henry and his friend? Henry is going to walk to Fitchburg and his friend is going to work to buy a train ticket to Fitchburg. Whoever gets there first wins.
What River did Henry cross? the Sudbury River
What jobs did Henry's friend do to earn money? filled a woodbox, swept a post office, pulled weeds, painted a fence, moved bookcases, gave cows water, cleaned a chicken house, carried flour from the mill to the baker
What did Henry do on his trip? hopped on rocked, carved a walking stick, pressed ferns and flowers in a book, walked on stonewalls, climbed a tree, made a raft, crossed a swamp, found a honey tree, jumped into a pond, ate and collected blackberries.
