All Quiet on the Western Front

Hello Everyone,
One of the greatest war novels ever written is All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. It is better, I think, than The Red Badge of Courage, though the latter is also a great novel(That's why we're reading it.). This is the epigraph of the novel(Do you know what an epigraph is?):
"This book is to be neither an accusation nor a confession, and least of all an adventure, for death is not an adventure to those who stand face to face with it. It will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped its shells, were destroyed by the war."
I first read this novel about 20 years ago and though I liked it I didn't think it was anything special. I read it again much later and thought it was extremely powerful. That's something that you will notice the more you read. A book you don't like now, you may love in 10 or 20 years and, conversely, a book you love now you may dislike in 10 or 20 years.
All Quiet on the Western Front is set in the First World War or The Great War as it was called before World War II. If you are enjoying The Red Badge Courage you may be interested in reading this novel in the future.

Mr. Draeger
