Millstone Education: World Literature
Literature Classes with Glen Draeger, B.S., M.A.
Grades K-3, 4-7, 8-12

The Classes: The format is discussion. All the classes will have a weekly reading assignment. The K-3 class will consist of discussing the weekly reading, I'll sometimes read a creative piece I've written that pertains to the reading and/or read an additional short book in class that relates to the previous week's reading. We'll also do some poetry recitation. The 4-7 class will focus more on discussion and I may read creative pieces or additional works that pertain. The high school class will be solely discussion. In all the classes I will use the Socratic or Great Books discussion approach: ask questions to make students think about what they've read.

The classes will also be supplemented with information on the Millstone Education: World Literature web site. This includes: vocabulary words (with Sniffy the Hamster for younger students), discussion questions, background information about authors creatively presented, author quotes, additional reading and other material that pertains . For those of you who need a "paper trail" printable versions of these will be available from the web site and could be used as worksheets or for notebooks.
